Using PDF Form Filler
The preview shows your document. The answer panel gives each field a readable input, even when the original box is tiny.
Open a form and move around its pages
Choose a PDF or use Try a sample form to practise. The sample has interactive fields on page one and a flat page after it.

Fill existing PDF fields
Type in the answer panel or select a highlighted box on the preview. Text, multiline answers, checkboxes, radio choices and lists are supported. Updated text uses up to 12 pt and shrinks to fit. Answers that still cannot fit are refused at export.
Find a field filters by its name or description. Show on page jumps to its first visible box. Next required finds the first required field still empty. The count measures answers, not correctness. An unticked optional checkbox can stay empty.
Type on a flat PDF or scan
Choose Text, Tick, Cross or Date, then tap the position on the preview. Select returns to editing existing answers.
Place an answer
Text opens an answer box in the panel. Date inserts today’s local date as DD/MM/YYYY. Edit it to match your form’s instructions.
Adjust the fit
Select an added answer to change its text, Size or Ink. Drag the mark on the page, or use Across and Down percentages from the visible page’s top left.
Repeat or remove
Duplicate copies a mark slightly lower. Show mark returns to its page. Remove deletes that added answer. Undo brings it back.
Place text at page centre gives you the same controls without a pointer. Added answers remain editable in this tab. They become normal page content in the saved PDF.
Review and save the filled PDF
Use Save format to choose what the recipient can edit in a PDF reader. Save filled PDF creates a new file and keeps your original untouched.

Keyboard access
All answer fields and mark settings work with the keyboard. Native text undo works while you are typing.

What it will not do
This fills existing fields and places visible answers. It does not create new interactive form templates, edit original text or perform OCR.
- One unlocked PDF, up to 100 MB, 500 pages and 1,000 fields. Up to 200 added answers.
- XFA forms and PDFs with an existing certificate signature are refused. Malformed field trees need repair in a desktop app.
- PDF scripts, calculations, submission buttons and custom validation do not run.
- Read-only and unsupported fields stay unchanged. Required-field review uses the flags stored in the PDF.
- The export font supports Latin, Greek and Cyrillic. Unsupported characters produce an error. Complex scripts need a desktop app.
- The preview is a placement aid. Reopen your saved copy and check long answers, chosen options and page positions.
Need a handwritten signature? Save your filled copy and use Sign PDF. For a form that needs certificate signing or automatic totals, use the issuing organisation’s recommended application.
Frequently asked questions
Can I fill out a PDF form for free without signing up?
Yes. Open your PDF, enter your answers and choose Save filled PDF. There is no account gate, watermark or daily task quota.
Does my PDF or the information I enter leave my device?
No. The PDF, field names, answers and added marks stay in this tab. They are not uploaded or saved to your floi account. Save a copy before closing or reloading the page.
Can I type on a PDF that has no fillable fields?
Yes. Choose Text, then tap the blank line on the preview. Write the answer in the side panel. Adjust Across, Down and Size to fit it. Added answers become page content when you save.
Can I fill a PDF form on my phone?
The editor adapts to a narrow screen. Your page appears above the answer panel. Use the readable field inputs instead of trying to type inside tiny PDF boxes. Zoom helps when placing text on a scan.
Does flattening stop someone from changing my answers?
Flattening removes interactive form controls from the saved copy. Your answers become page content. It is not encryption, a certificate signature or protection from a PDF editor.
Can I fill government forms with calculations or XFA?
Standard PDF forms work, but PDF JavaScript, automatic totals and validation scripts do not run. XFA and encrypted documents are refused. Use the issuing organisation’s recommended desktop app for those forms.
