How to watermark photos in a batch
Choose your photos
Add JPG, PNG or WebP files together. Try the sample batch to explore the editor before choosing your own photos.
Make your mark
Type your name or choose a logo. Set its size, opacity and position, then check each photo in the preview.
Save the batch
Download a ZIP of the watermarked photos, or save one image. Your originals stay untouched.
Using the photo watermark studio
Choose a mark once, then review how it sits on each photo. Changes appear in the preview before you export.
Your photos and the preview
Choose photos opens one image or a batch. You can also drop files on the preview area.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Try sample batch | Adds three generated product illustrations with different shapes. They are ordinary editable samples you can export. |
| Add photos | Adds files to the current batch without replacing your settings. |
| Photo thumbnails | Selects the photo to preview. The × button removes that photo from the batch only. |
| Show original / Show watermark | Switches the preview between the source and your mark. Exports always include the watermark. |
| Clear batch | Removes the loaded photos. It does not delete files from your device or reset your watermark settings. |
| Focus mode | Expands the editor. Narrow, Wide and Full change the panel width. Done or Escape returns to the page. |
Your text or logo
Watermark type chooses text or a logo image. The same mark applies to every photo.
- Watermark text accepts one line, up to 160 characters. Choose from 25 font styles, including signature scripts, handwritten lettering, editorial serifs and bold display faces. The font preview shows your own text.
- Colour changes text colour. Contrast outline adds a dark edge to help light text stand out.
- Choose logo loads a JPG, PNG or WebP. Its own aspect ratio and transparent background are preserved.
- Mark size sets the mark’s total width as a percentage of each photo’s shorter edge. Long text becomes smaller to fit.
- Opacity controls how strongly the mark covers the photo. It ranges from 5% to 100%.
Placement, rotation and tiled watermarks
Corner signature starts with a single bottom-right mark. Proof grid starts with a repeated diagonal pattern.
| Control | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Layout | Single mark for a signature. Tiled pattern for repeated text or logos across the image. |
| Rotation | Turns the mark between −90° and 90°. A single mark is kept inside the image bounds. |
| Batch position | Sets one of nine shared anchors. The quick position grid offers the same anchors. |
| Edge margin | Sets the gap from the edge as a percentage of the shorter side. |
| Place only on this photo | Limits the quick position grid and dragging to the selected photo. Text, size and opacity remain shared. |
| Use batch position | Removes the selected photo’s individual placement. |
| Tile spacing | Changes the gap between repeated marks. Partial marks at the image edges are intentional. |
Drag the outlined mark to place it freely. Individual placements and dragged positions last for this batch only.
Keyboard controls
Focus the watermark’s outline to move it with the keyboard. Standard keyboard controls also work on every slider and select menu.
| Key | Effect |
|---|---|
| Arrow keys | Move the focused mark by 1% of its available travel. |
| Shift + arrow | Move by 5% of available travel. |
| Escape | Leave Focus mode without losing the batch. |
Export settings and downloads
Save this photo exports the selected image. Download ZIP renders the whole batch at each image’s original pixel dimensions.
- File format keeps each source format, or writes every image as JPG, PNG or WebP.
- JPG / WebP quality controls lossy encoding. PNG ignores this setting. Unsupported WebP export is disabled.
- Cancel export stops after the current image. Your batch stays available for another attempt.
ZIP filenames include a number and -watermarked so repeated source names stay distinct. Failed files appear below the export controls. If some images succeed, the ZIP contains those images and reports the failures.
What this tool will not do
It does not remove watermarks, process RAW, HEIC, SVG or PDF files, or preserve animation. Animated PNG and WebP inputs become a single still frame.
Files are limited to 50 MB, 40 megapixels and 16,384 pixels per side. A batch holds up to 500 photos and 512 MB of source files. Encoded output is also limited to 512 MB; your browser may run out of memory sooner.
Camera metadata and GPS tags are not copied to exports. JPG fills transparent areas with white. A visible watermark is branding, not a guarantee against copying.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add the same watermark to multiple photos?
Yes. Text, logo, size, colour, opacity and layout apply across the batch. Select a thumbnail to check each image. Use Place only on this photo with the position grid or drag handle when one composition needs a different placement.
Can I use a transparent PNG logo?
Yes. Choose Logo image under Watermark type, then choose your PNG. Transparent areas let the photo show through. JPG logos also work, but their background remains visible. Crop excess transparent space around a logo before importing it for more predictable sizing.
Will adding a watermark reduce image quality?
Pixel dimensions stay the same, but the image is encoded again. JPG and WebP use the quality setting and may change pixels outside the watermark. PNG avoids an additional lossy encoding step, often with larger files. No setting can recover detail already lost in the source.
Are my photos or logo saved to my account?
No. Photos, logo files and previews stay in this tab and are not restored after a reload. If you sign in, your watermark text and general settings save automatically to your private account. Individual photo placements and freehand positions are kept only for the current batch.
Can a watermark stop somebody copying a photo?
No. A visible mark can identify your work, but it can be cropped, covered or removed. A tiled mark covers more of the image than a corner signature. Keep your clean originals and share only the resolution the recipient needs.
