How to merge videos online

  1. Bring your clips

Choose two or more videos. They open in the order supplied by your file picker. Try an example to practise first.

  2. Shape the sequence

Drag shots into order. Trim each clip, choose a shared frame and fit or crop the picture. Play through the joins.

  3. Save one video

Check the total duration and output dimensions. Save a new MP4 or WebM. Picture and sound are joined on your device.

A guide to the sequence studio

The filmstrip is your playback order. Select a shot to change its trim, sound or framing. The total shows the length of the finished sequence.

Open your clips and arrange the shots

Choose videos, drop files anywhere on the page or use Try an example. You can open one clip first, then use Add more in the file bar. Save becomes available when at least two valid clips are ready.

ControlWhat it does
Add moreOpen more clips. Its menu also offers paste and From your phone through File Transfer.
Drag a shotMove it to a new position. The numbered cards show the resulting order.
Earlier / later arrowsMove a shot one place. These work without dragging.
Remove (×)Release that clip. Removing the last clip returns to the empty studio.
ClearRelease the entire sequence and its edits. Clips are not restored after a reload.

Trim each clip and check its sound

Start and End are seconds from the beginning of the selected clip. Type a value or use Trim start and Trim end. Keep at least one frame. Reset trim returns that clip to its whole length.

  • The selected shot’s retained duration appears below the sliders. Its source file stays unchanged.
  • Mute this clip removes only that shot’s sound. A source without an audio track stays silent.
  • The output uses one 30 fps clock. Each retained duration rounds to the nearest frame, about 0.0333 seconds.
  • Picture and primary audio use the same boundaries. Extra audio tracks, chapters and embedded subtitles are left out.

Preview the sequence

Play sequence starts from the current position and continues into the next shot. The sequence slider seeks across every retained clip. Sound off and Sound on affect listening here, not the saved file.

The preview can pause while the next source opens. Export creates one continuous timeline. Check the saved file too, especially the first and last word around each cut.

Choose a common frame

The output shape applies to the whole sequence. First clip follows the current first shot, so reordering that shot can change your result’s dimensions. The other choices are 16:9 Landscape, 9:16 Vertical, 1:1 Square and 4:5 Portrait.

Fit this clipWhat happens
Fit with barsKeep the entire picture. Bar colour fills any unused space.
Fill frameCrop the picture to fill the output shape. Horizontal position and Vertical position choose what stays.
Blur padKeep the full picture over an enlarged, blurred copy of the same shot.

Framing belongs to each clip. The note shows the retained picture area for a crop and warns about enlargement. A crop stays fixed during its shot. It does not follow a moving subject.

Choose the output and save

The output line shows the actual pixel dimensions, format and frame rate. Short edge sets the smaller dimension to 480, 720 or 1080 pixels for preset shapes. First clip also caps the longer dimension at 1920 pixels and never enlarges that first source.

ControlWhat it changes
File formatMP4 uses H.264 and AAC sound. WebM uses VP9 and Opus sound. Only formats the current browser can encode are available.
Picture qualityHigh targets a higher bitrate than Balanced. It cannot recover detail or guarantee a smaller file.
Bar colourChoose Black or White for clips using Fit with bars.
Save videoMake one new file. The filename includes the output dimensions. A repeated save reuses the current finished result.
CancelStop an export. Your clips and edits remain available.
Open in / SharePass the finished video to another floi tool or your device’s sharing options.
Narrow, Wide or FullAt the top right of the tool. Give the sequence more room. Close (×) or Escape returns to the page.

What it will not do

This joins clips in sequence. It has no transitions, split screen, titles, speed changes or extra music lane. Use Add Audio to Video for a new soundtrack after joining.

Open up to 20 MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM or MKV clips. Each must be at most 300 MB, five minutes and 8.8 megapixels. Combined source files must stay within 500 MB. The finished sequence must fit five minutes. Browser memory can still run out below those limits.

HDR and surround sound are refused. A container extension does not guarantee its codecs can be decoded. Unreadable sound fails export with a named clip and an explicit mute option. This tool always re-encodes, including matching MP4 files.

Frequently asked questions

Can I merge MP4 videos without losing quality?

This tool re-encodes the picture and primary sound track. The result is not lossless. That lets clips with different sizes and frame rates share one timeline. High picture quality uses a higher target bitrate. For compatible files that need no trimming or reframing, the guide explains FFmpeg stream copying.

How do I combine portrait and landscape videos?

Choose one output shape. Select each clip and choose Fit with bars to keep the whole picture, Fill frame to crop it, or Blur pad to fill the space with a soft copy. Fill frame has separate horizontal and vertical position sliders. Nothing is stretched.

Can I join a silent video to clips with sound?

Yes. A clip with no sound stays silent for its own duration. Later sound starts with the clip it belongs to. Use Mute this clip to remove sound from an individual shot. Sound off beside the player only mutes the preview.

Why does the joined video have a different frame rate?

The result uses 30 frames per second. Clips recorded at 24, 25, 60 or variable frame rates are sampled onto that shared clock. Some frames can be repeated or skipped. Trim durations are rounded to the nearest output frame.

Does this put videos side by side?

No. It plays the clips one after another. A split-screen composition needs a video editor with multiple picture tracks. This tool also leaves out transitions, titles and added music. You can pass the joined result to Add Audio to Video from Open in.

Can I combine videos on my phone?

You can open this page in a phone browser, but decoding, encoding and memory support vary by device. Start with short clips and use a smaller Short edge if export fails. A physical iPhone is not covered by the desktop browser checks. Apple’s iMovie is another local option explained in the guide.
