How to make a photo collage

  1. Add your photos

Choose or drop up to 16 images. Your photos stay in this browser tab.

  2. Arrange and reframe

Pick a layout for your photo count. Select a photo and drag it, or use the arrow keys.

  3. Choose a size and save

Pick a screen or print preset, or enter exact pixels. Save a JPG or PNG.

Using the photo collage maker

Start with your own photos or choose Try an example to explore the controls. The example uses illustrations made in this tab.

Open and arrange photos

Choose or drop up to 16 photos. Add more opens the picker again. Select a thumbnail to work on that photo. Use its × button to remove it, or use the arrows above the strip to change its order. Clear returns to the empty stage.

Choose Balanced, Columns or Rows. With at least three photos, the feature layouts give the first photo a larger space. Moving a photo to the first position puts it in that space.

Set the frame and spacing

Select a photo in the preview and drag it inside its cell. Zoom brings it closer; Reset framing returns it to the centre. The tool crops each photo to fill its cell without stretching it.

ControlWhat it changes
Space betweenThe gaps between photos. The displayed pixels refer to the finished image.
Outer marginThe distance between photos and the canvas edge.
BackgroundThe colour behind gaps and transparent parts of photos.
ZoomThe selected photo only. Its crop stays with that photo when you reorder it.

Choose the output size

Choose a screen or print option under Canvas size. You can also type exact Width and Height in pixels. The preview changes shape to match. Print presets use the dimensions needed for about 300 pixels per inch on the named paper.

The print-detail message uses the smallest effective source resolution after cropping and zooming. A warning below 150 pixels per inch can help you spot a photo that may look soft. It cannot judge focus or guarantee print quality.

Save or send the collage

Choose JPG for a smaller photographic file or PNG for lossless encoding. Press Save collage. Use Open in to pass the image to another floi tool, or Share to send it to another device. Choose Narrow, Wide or Full at the top right for more room.

What it will not do

The tool holds up to 16 photos, each up to 40 MB and 40 megapixels. The combined decoded photos are limited to 100 megapixels. Output is limited to 8000 pixels per side and 40 megapixels. A browser may need a smaller size on a low-memory device.

This is a grid maker, not a freeform editor. It does not add text, stickers, shape masks or a PDF. It exports pixel dimensions; the JPG or PNG may not contain the chosen print density in its metadata. Set the paper size in your print dialog.

Frequently asked questions

Is the photo collage maker free?

Yes. Make and save a collage without an account, payment or a floi watermark. Your browser reads your photos and creates the image locally.

Can I make a photo collage for printing?

Yes. Choose a 4 × 6, 5 × 7, 8 × 10, A4 or US Letter preset. Each uses pixel dimensions calculated for about 300 pixels per inch at that paper size. Check the source-detail message and your printer’s page settings before printing.

Can I change which part of each photo is visible?

Yes. Select a photo and drag it within its cell. Use Zoom to bring the subject closer. Arrow keys move the selected photo, and Shift with an arrow makes a larger move.

What formats can I use?

Open JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or GIF if your browser supports them. Animated images contribute one frame, not animation. Save the collage as JPG or PNG. Transparent areas are filled with your background colour.

Will my photos be saved to my account?

No. Photos, their names and individual crop positions stay in this tab. Size, spacing, colour and format save in this browser when signed out, or to your private account when signed in. The layout stays in this tab. Add your photos again after a reload.
